The Shamrock Sterling Silver Necklace with Green Aventurine Gemstone Bracelet

Aventurine is a form of quartz that is characterized by its translucency and the presence of mineral inclusions that give it a sparkling or shimmering effect. The name "aventurine" is derived from the Italian word "a Ventura," which means "by chance" or "accidentally." It was first discovered by chance in the 18th Century, in Italy. A glassworker accidentally dropped some copper shavings into molten glass, creating the first pieces of aventurine. This glass had a sparkling, similar to what is seen in Aventurine Quartz.

While Aventurine glass was discovered in the 18th Century, the use of Aventurine Quartz dates back much further. Ancient civilizations, such as the Egyptians, the Greeks and the Romans, were known to use Aventurine for ornamental purposes. It was carved into various objects, including jewelry, statues, amulets and vases. In ancient China, Aventurine was highly valued and associated with wealth and good fortune, as it was believed to bring luck and prosperity to its owners.

Throughout history, Aventurine has associated with various metaphysical and healing  properties. It has been used in crystal healing practices for its ability to promote emotional healing, attract abundance and enhance luck. Today, Aventurine is found in various locations around the world. It can be sourced from countries such as India, Brazil, Russia, Austria, and Tanzania. Ours is sourced from Austria as is an AA Gemstone. Each location may produce Aventurine with its own unique characteristics, such as color variations, which are due to the presence of specific minerals to that location.
 

This beautiful bracelet is about 7.5" wide, and its beads are all 8mm.
