We started SC & SS because we believe that there is the opportunity to contribute to the community of natural dying using only natural dyes.

All yarns we purchase are natural and are naturally hand dyed in our home.  Natural yarns are those that are produced only from plants or animals, such as wool, cotton and silk.  Here at SC & SS we will only use natural yarns, which means we will not purchase yarns that have any Nylon or Rayon in them, as we believe this is best for the environment.

Most of the yarns we purchase will also be Organic. Organic Wool is not chemically treated, processed or altered.  This applies to both the yarn itself and the sheep which it comes from.  The livestock where the wool is sheared are normally healthy animals, that are not “dipped or given antibiotics.”  Organic Wool is more expensive and more delicate to work with, however it is better for both the animals and the environment.  We believe this to be a very, very important quality of SC & SS.

We will strive to be as environmentally friendly as we possibly can; from the yarn we purchase, to our dying practices, to our conservation of water, to reusing our resources, when possible, to our shipping supplies and to our shipping methods.  We have strived to take all of these things into consideration from the very beginning of our journey.  We are calling this a journey, because each day we are learning something new.  We do not, and will not, always get it right the first time, but we will continue trying.  We aim to try each day  to find better methods, the finest supplies from the foremost small businesses in the industry.  We always want you, our customer, to be happy and satisfied with your purchase.

We believe that our naturally hand dyed yarns can and will be an investment, which you will be proud to make.  We strive to ensure that you are happy with your yarn purchases, and if not, we will make every effort to make it right.  We are here because of your support.  You, our customers, are very important to us.

We appreciate our international customers, buyers are responsible for any customs, import fees or additional charges. We are also not in control of or responsible for any customs or shipping delays.
