Seaside Romance - 100% Fine Merino Wool/ Bulky Weight Base

Introducing a new base for the very first time, our Fine Superwash Merino Wool is a 2 ply Bulky weight with 115 yards!  It is so very soft and lovely, and will now offer you a base which you can knit or crochet very quickly with!

Fine Merino Wool has the softness, warmth and quality you would expect with luxury yarns. This base has beautiful stitch definition!  It's quite a lovely shade, standing on its own, or alongside the other bases in this Collection. As you can see in the photos, these skeins are a deeper shade of pink, and they do match very nicely with the entire Collection. I particularly love them with another one of our newer bases, our Extra Fine Superwash Merino Wool Aran/Worsted weight base.  Both of these bases show how you can use the same recipe with natural dyes, and yet deliver a different depth of color on very, similar bases.  It's quite a lovely shade, and adds a slight boldness alongside the other bases!

When trying to come up with a name for this Collection all I kept thinking of was romance, flowing light pink dresses and fresh, light pink peonies, blowing in the seaside wind.  Hence the name came to me. It's everything we always wanted to achieve in a light pink natural dye, and is certainly the color we wanted to showcase in our very first, complete, color Collection. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Fine Merino Wool is a 100% natural and renewable sustainable resource. It is also biodegradable, organic and environmentally friendly.  Recent studies have proven that Fine Merino Wool garments worn next to the skin are a natural remedy against eczema. They act as a second skin and stabilize the "humidity level and the micro climate of the skin surface." They are proven to reduce symptoms such as redness, itch and rush especially in those who suffer from dermatological conditions.

Wonderful projects for our Fine, Merino Wool would be hats, mittens and cowls. The possibilities are honestly endless!  

We suggest using a US 10 Knitting Needles and a size 11 Crochet Hook. (This is only a suggestion, everyone's tension varies, please use what is the most comfortable for you!)

All of Sand Castles and Sea Shells Yarns are certified mulesing free.

As with all naturally hand dyed yarns, we recommend hand washing your finished piece, using a PH Balanced Soap such as Mrs. Myer's Clean Day Lavender Laundry.
