Seaside Romance - 100% Fine Organic, Non Superwash, Merino/ Aran-Worsted Weight Base

This lovely color is on our 100% Fine Organic, Non Superwash, Merino Wool base and is a 4 ply Worsted/ Aran weight with 219 yards.  Fine Merino Wool has the softness, warmth and quality you would expect with luxury yarns.  It is a lovely light shade of pink.   In my opinion it is thicker, having more substance, than our other Worsted/Aran weight base.  That being said, they are both beautiful bases.  **In the first four photos above, this base is shown in the natural sunlight, to try and capture its true color.  In the last photo this base is on the left, and is alongside our Extra Fine Merino base.  It is noticeable lighter than our Extra Fine Merino, however very lovely!**

When trying to come up with a name for this Collection all I kept thinking of was romance, and flowing, light pink dresses and fresh, light pink peonies blowing in the seaside wind.  Hence the name came to me.  It’s everything we always wanted to achieve in a light pink dye, and is certainly the color we wanted to showcase in our very first complete, color Collection.  We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!  

Merino Wool is a 100% natural and renewable sustainable resource.  It is also biodegradable, organic and environmentally friendly.  

Recent studies have proven that Fine Merino Wool garments worn next to the skin are a natural remedy against eczema.  They act as a second skin and stabilize the “humidity level and the micro climate of the skin surface.” They are proven to reduce symptoms such as redness, itch and rush especially in those who suffer from dermatological conditions.  

Wonderful projects for our Fine Organic Merino Wool would be hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters, children’s garments and home accessories.  The possibilities are honestly endless!  

We suggest using a US 6/8 Knitting Needles and a size H Crochet Hook.  (This is only a suggestion, everyone’s tension varies, please use what is the most comfortable for you!) 

All of Sand Castles and Sea Shells Yarns are certified mulesing free.  

As with all naturally hand dyed yarns, we recommend hand washing your finished piece,  using a PH Balanced Soap such as Mrs. Myer’s Clean Day Lavender Laundry.
