Carousel Lights - 100% Merino Wool/ DK Weight Base

This lovely color is on our 100% Superwash Merino Wool, and is a 4 ply DK weight, with 246 yards.  Due to its long strands, Merino Wool is less likely to pill, which we all know can be a dreaded headache for knitters.  Rest assured, this yarns classic 4 ply construction will keep all of its loveliness for many, many  years to come.  

Merino Wool is great for knitting pieces which will provide warmth, without being too hot.  It also has moisture wicking qualities which will keep your piece dry to the touch.  Merino Wool is also hypoallergenic, which is beneficial for allergy and asthma suffers.  

Merino Wool is a 100% natural and renewable sustainable resource.  It is also biodegradable, organic and environmentally friendly.  

Merino Wool is more expensive than other wool yarns because it is a finer grade wool.  It is softer, smoother and more durable than other wools.  Naturally hand dyed, Merino Wool will also be more expensive because of the extra labor involved.  Go ahead and treat yourself, you won’t regret it!  

Wonderful projects for our Superwash Merino Wool would be hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters, children’s garments and home accessories.  The possibilities are honestly endless!  

We suggest using a US 7 Knitting Needle and a size G Crochet Hook.  (This is only a suggestion, everyone’s tension varies, please use what is the most comfortable for you!)

As with all naturally hand dyed yarns, we recommend hand washing your finished piece, using a PH Balanced Soap such as Mrs. Myer’s Clean Day Lavender Laundry.
